Macwho?

I know I didn't say anything about this, but I forgot. I don't know how I forgot, but I did. I'm playing Lady Macduff in a production of Macbeth up in Salt Lake. Rehearsals started yesterday. It's a small part, but it's important, and for some reason, Lady Macduff absolutely fascinates me. So I am thrilled.

Even more thrilled when I am informed that instead of placing the production in medieval times, we are placing it in 1810-- the Napoleonic era. Lots of civil unrest, England trying to reinstate kings... not to mention empire waistlines and gorgeous hair. The rest of the girls and I are thrilled. The boys are trying to figure out if they still get to wear underwear under their kilts.

It really, really helps with character work and building relationships when your husband is an attractively broody Norwegian boy named Rob and your cousin is a guy with a great smile named Ralph. Also, when your associate director is in charge of your only scene, and she seems just as fascinated by Lady Macduff as you do...

I am so excited. This is going to rock. And I hope some of you will come to see it.
